The trailer hitch receivers that fit a 2020 Toyota Prius are the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24966 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11473.

Of the two, I highly recommend the Curt # C11473 because it gives you the best bumper clearance and ground clearance, which is important for accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers to keep them safely away from your Prius while avoiding scraping the ground.

Keep in mind these are Class I hitches so if you plan on using a bike rack, you will need a Class I compatible rack, such as the outstanding Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH23JV.

I have added links to the instructions as well as video installs for you to check out, as well as a link to our Class I compatible bike racks if that was what you wanted to use the hitch for.

I looked at the install instructions and other information about the Curt C11473 on this website and the Curt website and see printed in their instructions for the hitch and their straps that use of a non-wheeled load (such as a bike rack) without the use of stabilizing straps voids the warranty of the hitch and the rack. I believe eTrailer has said that straps are no longer required by Curt, but that is not what I've seen on their website and product literature. Have you got written confirmation from Curt that you can share? Otherwise, it seems like I have to get the Draw-tite hitch instead if I want to carry bikes without using stabilizer straps. A second question: the instructions for the Curt indicate cutting the driver's side underbody panel in addition to the center panel (which the AWD-e Prius doesn't have), while the Draw-tite instructions only show trimming the center panel. Do you know if the Draw-tite can be installed without cutting anything on the AWD-e? Thank you.

Curt is in the process of removing that stipulation. If you look at a handful of random Class I Curt hitches you'll see that some have this note in the instructions still and some don't. Since this hitch still has it in the instructions at the time of this response you might still want to use the strap. If your AWD-e Prius doesn't have that center panel then I don't see why you'd have to trim anything. The only time you'd have to trim anything is if it was in either of those locations.
