Parts Needed to Upgrade Trailer with Surge Drum Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic

Question:

I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 with the towing package built in the truck. I have a 22’ boat trailer with a folding tongue, two tandem wheels with one set having drum brakes. I want to convert to EOH system. The boat weighs 3000# dry. What are all the components I will need? I get confused when the talk about dash mounts. I thought I could use the factory switches to control the trailer braking amount.

To convert your surge drum brakes to electric over hydraulic mainly just requires installing an electric over hydraulic actuator # HBA-10 and you'd be set once you wire it up to your trailer. The integrated brake controller of your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 would be compatible with this as well.

If your trailer does not currently have a 7-way you'd also need the part # HS381-9000 to make this as painless as possible.
