Correct Husky Center Line Weight Distribution System for Trailer with 800-850 Lbs of Tongue Weight

Question:

I have a travel trailer that has a dry weight 6500lbs but a hitch weight of 835lbs. Should I go with the 8k total weight with the 800 tw or the 12k with 1200 tw. Im looking at the husky centerline model.

The Husky Center Line Weight Distribution System part # HT32218 which is rated for 800 lbs - 1,200 lbs of tongue weight is what I recommend for a trailer with tongue weight of 835 lbs. That said, if you are looking at the hitch weight online this is the dry weight which means while the trailer is empty so the actual tongue weight is likely higher. Furthermore, the weight of any cargo in the truck bed also gets factored into tongue weight. In short, most people underestimate their tongue weight so the higher rated system is the way to go.
