How to Determine Functions of 7-Way on Trailer

Question:

I just ripped my 7 way cord off my fifth wheel toy hauler , pulled the cord right out of the junction box mounted on the trailer what is the color code to re attach it??

There is no such thing as a universal color code on trailers to re-attach your wiring harness, but I can tell you how to figure it out; you'll need to start by using Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979.

You will need to use an independent 12 volt battery and use 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1 for a jumper wire to test the functions of the lights. You will then touch one end of the jumper wire to the positive post of the battery and touch the other end of the wire to the different wires on the trailer to see what circuits illuminate.

For a replacement 7-way on your trailer I recommend the Hopkins 7-Way RV Style Connector # H20046.
