Weight Distribution For Towing 2005 Fleetwood Sequoia

Question:

I have a 2007 Toyota 4Runner with V8 and tow package. My car can tow 7,000 lbs and 700 lb tongue weight. I’m towing a 2005 Fleetwood Sequoia camper. It’s 3,500 lbs. I want to add sway protection and was looking at weight distribution also since it lowers my read end more than I like. I was drawn to the Equal-I-Zer E2 hitch with the 8,000 bars. What is your thoughts on that? I may upgrade to a larger trailer in my future and I don’t want to need to buy a larger hitch system if I can get one right off the bat. I also don’t want to have a poor ride from having too much hitch if such a thing exists. Thoughts?

Since going with too high rated of a weight distribution system can cause the ride quality to be harsh your best option is a properly rated system with a wider range like the Reese part # RP67509 which has a range of 400 to 800 lbs which would work great for the trailer you have now and anything closer to the higher end of your tongue weight range.

For a 2 inch ball you'd then need the part # A-90.
