In order to use a tow bar with a set of welded-on d-rings which are commonly found on aftermarket Jeep bumpers you need a specific type of tow bar, one that mounts on the motorhome when not in use. The Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar part # RM-520 and Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar part # BX7380 are both examples of motorhome mounted tow bars and are excellent options to use, the best value for the money.

In order to use either tow bar with a set of welded-on d-rings you will need an adapter which are specific to both the brand of tow bar and size of d-ring/pin. For Roadmaster Tow Bars we have part # RM-035 for 3/4" thick d-rings and part # RM-035-1 for 1" thick d-rings. For Blue Ox Tow Bars we have part # BX88357 for 7/8" pins and part # BX88358 for 1" pins. The Blue Ox adapters come with spacers to fit a d-ring thickness of 5/8"-1" and the Roadmaster adapters come with spacers to fit both 7/8" and 1" pins. .

I have the Falcon 2 and the adaptor D-ring 1”.It’s a 2015 wrangler JKU - I’m having excessive sway in the vehicle back and forth when I’m going 75 mph on the Texas highways. I see the 1” have some play in them I believe the D-ring mount is 7/8ths (Smittybilt Atlas Bumper). I’ve had new tires, re aligned. Any thoughts will be greatly helpful, I don’t want to damage anything.

If your D-Rings are smaller than 1" then you likely need the Adapter kit # RM-035 instead of the 1" option. I would imagine that this contributes to some vehicle sway, but it kind of depends on your definition of excessive. Part of me is wondering if maybe you have some death wobble going on?

@JonG the D-rings are 7/8ths but still some play- I will have the jeep checked for week parts in the steering and ball joints
