Flat Towing Equipment Recommendations For A 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question:

I am planning on purchasing a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport to flat tow behind my Thor Daybreak 22GO Motorhome. What might I need? Or would a dolly be a better option for towing? Saw the stuff that KYD Keep Your Daydream uses to tow their Subaru and like the Roadmaster with LED lights etc. Maybe that would work? I will have a local Gander RV install it all here in Wisconsin. Thanks much!!

4WD models of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler are not able to be dolly towed so I recommend flat towing your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport. To flat tow your Wrangler you'll need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, base plate, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:

Tow Bar: Since you said you're interested in the Roadmaster with LED lights I'm assuming you're talking about the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - RV Mount - 8K # RM-676, which is a great choice. This tow bar has a large hook up radius and non-binding design that makes connecting and disconnecting your tow bar a breeze on any terrain. The integrated LED lights illuminate with your RV tail lights which makes it easy to hookup or disconnect in the dark. This tow bar also comes with a 7 to 6 way adapter cable and 6-way port for your vehicle.

Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521453-5. These direct-connect brackets are virtually invisible, easy to mount and remove, and they eliminate the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar on your tow bar. The Removable arms provide a clean unobtrusive look when not in use.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: The Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 is a great choice but since the tow bar comes with the adapter cable and port you'll only need the diodes and some wiring so I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152.

Note: Jeeps equipped with ParkSense proximity sensors need Smart Diode Kit # RM47ZR. This kit doesn't come with 6-pole port or adapter cable so you'll need the Curt Tow Bar Extension Cord w/ Socket - Coiled - 7-Way RV - 96" Cord
Item # C39HR as well.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39530. This one time setup system offers fully proportional braking with a system that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. Actuator installs out of sight and remains virtually invisible when your car isn't being towed. The controller also works as a trailer brake controller. It also comes with a charge line kit to keep your vehicle's battery charged so you don't get to your destination and find your battery is dead.

Safety Cables: Since the tow bar I recommended above comes with safety cables you won't need to purchase them separately. If you choose a different tow bar without cables then I recommend the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.

You may also need a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level while flat towing your vehicle. This will require some measuring so I've attached our help guide article to walk you through the steps.
