Will Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier Work With SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack
Question:
Dear Sirs, Im interested in hauling an approximately 8.5 long kayak on my 2011 Honda Accord Sedan. I would like the equipment to be lockable. I looked at the Rhino-Rack ROC25 but it seemed too expensive. I then looked at the SPortRack square crossbar system. Im especially interested in the Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier to attach the kayak to the racks. Questions: would that Lockrack carrier work with the Sportrack Square Crossbars? Is the Lockrack carrier feasible with the Honda Accord/8 kayak situation? In other words, is the distance between the two crossbars sufficient without bow and stern straps?

Expert Reply:
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack for Naked Roofs part # SR1010 which is a fit for a 2011 Honda Accord Sedan will work with the Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier part # LR54FR. The universal clamps will have no problem tightening down on the square bars. In regards to crossbar spread, this won't be a problem and you don't need to use bow/stern tie-downs but it won't be a bad idea to provide more support. The Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops # TH855XT will work if needed.
