Will 20K Goose Box Have Clearance Issues with Bed Rails on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

Have a 2018 Heartland fuel toy hauler I am pulling it with a 2006 Dodge ram 2500 that has the 6 1/2 foot bed with a Anderson Hitch Can I go to this Reese 20000 pound goose Box and not have to worry about hitting my bed rails ? Concerned about the height of that.

As long as you don't have anything like a fuel tank in the bed of your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 and the truck is stock height you shouldn't have issues with the 20K Reese Goose Box # RP85FR coming into contact with anything. Just for your reference, the bottom forward-most bolt hole is 17.75" back and 19.2" up from the coupler (gooseneck hitch ball).

Please note that this is designed to replace Lippert 1621, 1621HD, and 0719 pin boxes. It is compatible with a Lippert 1716 pin box if you use the Spacer Kit # RP61301 as well. If you have a different pin box number just let me know and I can see what else might work for you.

The only potential clearance problem you may have is turning clearance between your trailer and truck cab since you have a short bed. If you're trailer has a V-Nose then you should be okay for most turns, but if your trailer has a boxed front end then you'll need something with an offset or a sliding 5th wheel hitch to allow you to make tight turns.
