The correct harness for a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country is # 118552. This is the updated converter that is rated for 7.5 amps stop/turn lights per side and 7.5 amps total for running lights.

It is a powered converter that requires a direct connection to the vehicle battery but that should not be an issue if you already have one in place. This harness plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring so no splicing is required.

The hardwire harness would work in the same manner but it would be harder to connect. You would have to ground the red wire with the white wire (since on your vehicle the yellow and green wires from the converter will carry both turn and brake lights). But, it is rated lower than the 118552 harness (stop and turn lights are only rated for 2.1 amps max per side).

So basically the difference is that the correct harness comes with simple plug in style connectors and is rated for more amperage making it the best option for your van. I have included links to a video and the installation instructions for you.

Make sure to check the trailer wiring and grounds for possible shorts that may have led to the other converters failure.
