Solution to Upgrade Lippert 6,00 lb Axle on 2018 Crossroads Volante 3601LF

Question:

I have a 2018 Crossroads Volante 3601LF 5th wheel - and am wanting to upgrade the axles from the 6k lippert axles, to 7k axles. The current lippert axles are item # V0002722735 Is there a way to look up the axle hub face measurement so I can make sure I am replacing the axles with the new 7k axles so that they have the same hub face measurement?

Thank you for the photo. I do have a solution for you, but based on the information printed on the label, your Lippert 6,000 lb axle has an 87 inch hub face and 68.5 inch spring center measurement, which none of our 7,000 lb axles are going to match.

The alternative solution is to replace your axle beam with the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension # TASR7KS01. This system is rated for 7,000 lbs and it includes the brake mounting flanges. One of the benefits of using a Timbren system is the improved ride quality, since you're riding on rubber, you'll get a smoother and more comfortable ride. Plus, it maximizes your ground clearance since it doesn't require an axle beam underneath. That said, if your trailer does not have a crossmember above the spot where you want to install the Timbren system, you may need to reinforce the frame.

For electric brakes I recommend the DexterTrailer Brake Kit # 23-464-465 and part # BRKH12 for mounting hardware. Nev-R-Adjust brakes automatically adjust as you're driving so you spend less time on trailer maintenance.

For a compatible hub and drum assembly you can use the Dexter # 42866UC3-EZ. As long as your current wheel bolt pattern is a 6 on 5-1/2 inch (commonly used on 6K axle applications), you'll be able to reuse your current tires/wheels.

I have attached a couple videos for you check out below.
