Recommended Wiring Harness Used To Install Brake Controller On a 2019 Ford Transit T350
Question:
I need to put a hitch on my 2019 Ford Transit, along with all wiring for a brake controller. Ive chosen the E98842 hitch, and I like the Tekonsha Primus IQ controller. Im a little confused on the wiring, though. The videos that you have on Youtube which are GREAT instructional videos all show the addition of brake controller wiring to a van that already has a 4-wire plug in place. Im starting from scratch, and it looks like I can use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector 22114. Am I right there? I need some help on solving the wiring problem. If I use the Tekonsha wiring harness, what bracket should I use to hold the outlet in place? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98842 is an excellent option for a 2019 Ford Transit T350. In regards to wiring, the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter part # 22114 is no longer available. What you will need instead is the Curt T-Connector # C56327, and the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7.
In regards to installation of the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter, this doesn't require any existing 4-way as it's designed for models without a trailer connector starting from scratch. The same will go for the # C56327 and # ETBC7 kits. These kits will come with the necessary brackets.
