I am interested in a roadmaster base plate for a 2020 Chevy traverse. There are 2 items listed, one with adaptive cruise and without... appears to be the same part number? Can you clarify this for me . Thank you!

You are correct that the Roadmaster Base Plate # RM-523200-5 fits both models, it just happens to be how our site fitguides the different items; Blue Ox offers base plates that are dependent on this feature, but the Roadmaster base plates will not effect the Adaptive Cruise Control feature on your 2020 Chevy Traverse. These base plates are compatible with a number of different Roadmaster brand tow bars like the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-676. If you've got a tow bar from a different manufacturer, I've linked our base plate adapter table to this answer that you can refer to in order to find an adapter that will allow you to use these Roadmaster base plates with a tow bar from a different manufacturer.
There may be some other parts that you need to complete your flat towing setup, like wiring, safety cables, supplemental braking or a high/low adapter. I've listed some recommendations of those below if you need any of these.
Wiring: Roadmaster 7 to 6 Wire Flexo Coil- # RM-15267
Supplemental Braking: Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR (also requires 12v outlet kit # RM-9332 )
Safety Cables: Roadmaster # RM-643
