Recommended Trailer Wiring for 2015 BMW X5

Question:

I ordered a curt hitchc for my 2015 bmw x5. The hitch is installed so now I need to run wiring to the hitch contact point with the trailer. My vehicle vin number says I have a s8sla trailer coupling preperation. I cannot find out what this option does to me or for me. The VIN is 5UXKR2C56F0H*****. Could you please advise what wiring harness I need to purchase.

For your 2015 BMW X5, I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter Kit with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56190KIT. You can use the attached video to assist. You can route the connector down through panels or grommets to the hitch location. I recommend using a mounting bracket like # 18144.

The s8sla trailer coupling preparation from what I can find means wires may be run but at not completed. I recommend using the above kit to avoid any issues and give you what you need.
