Does Tekonsha T-One Wiring from 2017 Kia Sportage Fit a 2020 Kia Sportage

Question:

Hello, I recently upgraded from a 2017 Kia Sprotage to a 2020. I used this 118698 T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector which I ordered from you. I took it out before i traded it in. I could have sworn i looked at your site a month or so ago and this wasnt listed as an option. I just got on today to order a new one and i noticed it now said the 118698 was compatible. I just wanted to confirm that in fact the 118698 is compatible with a 2020 Sportage. Thanks in advance, Sorry if i was mistaken, Stay Safe.

Great question!

Yes, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118698 is compatible with your 2020 Kia Sportage. This kit fits a 2017-2020 Sportage so you're good to go. In all honesty if you checked a month or so ago it could very well have not been listed as a fit yet. Since your 2020 is a newer vehicle sometimes they are still figuring out what wiring fits what vehicle so Tekonsha may have just recently confirmed that the 118698 actually fits the 2020 model.

If you don't already have a trailer hitch then I recommend the etrailer # e72TR simply because the crosstube is hidden so only the receiver is visible, plus it has a bracket integrated on the crosstube which allows you to keep the 4-Way plug from the 118698 right next to the hitch receiver with the bracket # 18144.

I would imagine that you still have a ball mount from the towing setup on your 2017 Sportage, but if you don't I recommend checking out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989891 which comes with a 3/4" rise/2" drop ball mount, both 1-7/8" and 2" hitch balls, a pin & clip combo, and a handy storage bag to keep everything together.

Attached are some installation videos as well as a ball mount article to help ensure that your ball mount is the correct height for your towing setup.
