There is a trailer hitch that will fit your 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 passenger van with a factory step bumper, so long as it does NOT have a 30-3/8" frame, measured outside to outside of frame. The correct hitch, which fits either 170 inch wheelbases or 144 inch wheelbases is:
- Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75601
I do want to mention that just from the picture you sent in, it does not look like you have the step bumper, it looks like you may have the standard bumper. If so, then the hitch you need that also fits a passenger van with either a 170 inch or 144 inch wheelbase (again, so long as it does NOT have a 30-3/8" frame), is:
- Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75549
I have added a link to a video install of the latter hitch as well as links to the instructions of both for you to check out. If you plan on towing and your trailer has electric brakes, use the Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way # TK22115 with the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195.
