Are the BrakeRite Actuators Rebuildable?
Question:
This is the second unit that Ive had. The first failed after 7 years and this one has lasted 2.5. Im tired of spending a lot of money on a part that is so unreliable. Is there someplace that repairs these? Ive confirmed it is receiving power, has a good ground and is receiving a signal from brake controller. I love electric brakes and this is a great compromise for my boat trailer...or at least it would be if it worked.

I agree it is quite the investment and we want that kind of money to last. Unfortunately I am unaware of anywhere that rebuilds or repairs them. Typically we install the Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit part # T4813102 inside of a fifth wheel. For external marine type use I recommend the HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes part # HS381-8067. It uses stainless steel hardware and more importantly a marine grade gasket to prevent moisture getting in causing issues.
I'm not saying that the Hydrastar is better in it's function they both work the same. What I am saying is this one is designed with your application in mind and will outlast the other. We actually lean towards this one in the shop as well for many different applications.
