How To Convert a 4-Way To a 7-Way On a 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler

Question:

Im buying a small camping trailer, and I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler with a factory tow package 4pin. A factory type 7 pin is supposed to charge the battery on the trailer while towing. Is this the right 7 pin for me?

In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on a 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler with factory tow package you can use the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket part # HM40975-11933 which is plug-n-play. This connector plugs into a factory port under the rear bumper and will replace the 4-way you have now. It has the battery charge line circuit you will need for your trailer. If the trailer also has brakes as well then you'll need a brake controller for which I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 because it's plug-n-play.
