Will the Curt 2-1/2 Inch Weight Distribution Shank Work With 2 Inch Weight Distribution Head
Question:
This shank appears to flare out on the 2.5” side and the rise/ side appears to be smaller, maybe 2”? I’m trying to determine if this will work with my Dodge RAM 2500 2019 with 2.5” receiver and trailer weight distribution system with a 2” head rather than using an adapter sleeve to go from 2.5” to 2”.

The Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17132 is just what you need to use a weight distribution system on a trailer hitch with 2-1/2" receiver tube opening without using a 2-1/2" to 2" sleeve adapter. The shank does narrow down for use with a standard weight distribution head. In other words, the weight distribution head for a 2-1/2" hitch is the same for a 2" hitch.
