Does The Spare Tire Need To Be Removed to Install Curt Hitch On 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500
Question:
Was just about to install do I need to remove spare tire first? 2019 170 sprinter 4x4 standard bumper.

Expert Reply:
According to Curt you will not need to remove the spare tire when you install part # C13388 as long as it is a standard spare tire size.
As long as the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 is a 170 or 144 inch wheel base, standard bumper and is not a passenger van this hitch is confirmed to fit without removing the spare tire.
If you need wiring, I recommend Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter part # TK22115 because it is the easiest way to install a 7-way and brake controller on the Sprinter. Once installed the wiring harness will plug into a Tekonsha brand brake controller. For that I recommend the Tekonsha P2 part # 90885 because of it's reliability and power boost settings for heavy duty towing.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend Curt part # C45900 that has a 6" Drop or 5-1/4" Rise with a 2" and 2-5/16" steel hitch balls. If you are not sure how much rise or drop you need to tow level I have attached a helpful article to explain how to figure the amount of rise or drop you may need.
