Since the Curt trailer wiring harness part # 56014 that fits your 2010 Ford Focus draws power from the vehicle taillights for the trailer wiring it would potentially pop a vehicle taillight fuse in the event of a trailer wiring short. We do have a kit that also fits your vehicle that has circuit protection with the Hopkins part # HM11140495 which wouldn't damage your vehicle wiring in the event of a trailer wiring short.
