How To Install Slide Topper On Trailer with Awning Arms Next to Slide Out

Question:

I have a slide that measures 142 1/2 1110 1/2. According to all my research, I need a topper that measures 126. My concern however, is that the support arms for my main coach awning coming out over the door are only about 2 from the edge of the flange on my slide, and Im afraid that there isnt room for the arms of the topper to not hit the support bracket of the main awning. Should I maybe get a 12 footer instead?

The correct slide topper for a 142-1/2" slide when measuring from the outside of each flange is the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning part # LCV000177334 for black or part # LCV000163298 for white. The slide topper will then require at least 3" of clearance outside the flange for the awning head.

If you don't have the additional clearance because other parts are in the way such as awning arms, you could simply place spacers behind the hex brackets which bolt to the trailer. That whay, the awning head on the slide topper sits in front of the awning arms. However, you would need to make sure the slide is extended out before you use the main awning.
