Recommended Grease Seal With Inner Diameter of 1.249 and Outer Diameter of 1.983

Question:

I have a grease seal 1.983” OD x 1.249”ID Can I use grease seal 1.98”ODx1.25”ID Are they the same and it’s just rounded up or down Or do I have to be specific and stay with exact size? If I purchase pre grease hub replacement do I have to stay within the same specs or are they interchangeable as long as the same bearing ,race , and seal that came in the kit is used?

To replace the grease seals you will need part # 34823 which measure ID 1.249" OD 1.983". You can also use part # RG06-010 for a pair. I do not recommend going with a different size because it is important to stick with the correct size. You will need to stick with the bearings, races and seal that fit your specific spindle. Not all bearings and races will fit the spindle on your trailer. If you pull the hub and check the bearing numbers stamped on the side of the bearings you can get the information that way. You can also use digital calipers to measure the spindle to figure out what size bearings you need. I have attached a very helpful diagram for your reference.
