Will Draw-Tite Hitch Fit 2020 BMW X5 sDrive 40i

Just want to verify that this hitch will indeed fit onto a 2020 X5 with S drive.

Yes, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76288 will fit your 2020 BMW X5 sDrive 40i. The reason why we specify "excluding M performance models" is because that option has a different trim package so it changes out the hitch interacts with the vehicle body. The sDrive has the same trim style as the xDrive which this hitch was installed on in the linked instructions (see attached).

If you're looking to use this for towing a trailer then you also need a wiring kit and a ball mount kit. For the wiring I recommend the ZCI # 119250KIT because it clamps around your wiring and doesn't actually require you to splice into your OEM wiring.

Then for a ball mount kit I recommend the kit # 989891 which includes a 1-7/8" hitch ball, 2" hitch ball, a ball mount with a 3/4" rise/2" drop, a pin and clip, as well as a storage bag. You will want to check out the attached ball mount article to ensure that this ball mount has the correct rise/drop for your towing application.
