Will Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Clear Rear Bumper of 2012 Honda Accord Coupe
Question:
I have a 2012 Honda accord coupe V6 that I plan on installing a 1.25 hitch on. Will the Kuat NV bike rack work for my car with clearance issues?

Expert Reply:
If you were to install the Curt Class I receiver, part # C11085, we have determined that the distance from the hitch pin hole of the hitch to the furthest rearward point of the rear bumper is 3-3/4 inches, which is plenty of room for the Kuat NV 2.0, # NV12G, to fit.
The Curt # C11496 offers 6-1/2 of clearance between the hitch pin hole and the back edge of the bumper. This hitch would provide enough clearance, but not as much as the Curt hitch mentioned above.
I recommend going with the Curt hitch because of the additional clearance provided. Per the Curt warranty requirements, a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 should be used.
We typically recommend that you install the hitch first, take the measurement, and then choose a bike rack that will have a shank long enough to clear the bumper.
