Can Shocks be Installed with the Center Point Air Ride Suspension Upgrade

Question:

Hi, I am very interested in installing the LCI Center Point Air Suspension on my toy hauler. My question is can I also install shocks with this system? Are they not required? Will the shocks interfere with the operation of the air ride system? Thank you for your help

You can install shocks if you like along with the Lippert Components Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade # LC1565391 (Tandem Axle) or # LC1565401 (Triple Axle).

There will not be any interference at all, because the Center Point system is an equalizer upgrade, while shocks are going to be positioned between the trailer frame and leaf spring. Either of these components is going to give you a significant upgrade in your trailer's ride quality, but the combination will give you one of the smoothest rides possible.

For shocks the correct kit is going to depend on your axle size. Either the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit with Heavy Duty Gas Shocks - 3,500-lb (2-3/8") Axle # LC281255 or 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb (3") Axle # LC281281.

I have added links to video reviews as well as installs which I recommend checking out as well.
