Does Aftermarket Trailer Wiring for 2019 Honda Ridgeline Piggyback Off of Taillight Wiring Harness

Question:

The trailer wiring harnesses we carry for the 2019 Honda Ridgeline do not piggyback off of the taillight circuits of the vehicle like some of the T-one style harnesses do. Our harnesses like the Curt # C56365 plug into factory wiring ports already present at the rear of the vehicle. So you'd be utilizing wiring on the vehicle that was intended to power trailer taillights. With this setup there are several fuses and relays that need to be plugged into fully activate the wiring. If you aren't able to get the running light circuit active you really would need to check to make sure all of the fuses are installed in the correct slots and also that the fuses are in good condition.

Thank you for the reply. As I wrote previously, Ive tried all troubleshooting suggestions, including checking every fuse that came with the Curt kit and every other fuse in the 2 fuse boxes under the hood of my 2019 Ridgeline, but still not getting power to the connection under the rear bumper. Is there something else to check before deciding its the Curt power box behind the back seat?

Are you not getting any power at all to the 7-Way, or is it only a specific function (running/tail lights, left turn/brake signal, etc)? If it's no power at all, then a faulty converter box would be a likely culprit. To rule this out you could test the wiring right BEFORE the box, and then test it right after the box to see if you get power before (with the tail lights on) but not after - which would verify a bad converter. Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

To determine if the converter box of the kit you have now is the problem you can test for voltage on the input side of the box with a tester like part # PTW2993 and then test on the output side as well of the matching circuit. If voltage on that circuit makes it into box but then not to the output side the box is the problem. The more reliable setup you referenced would be the part # 118778.
