Will the Thule Motion XT 22 Cu. Ft. Fit on a 2018 Kia Niro

This is a long shot but I am wondering if I dare put the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 22 cu ft - Titan Glossy Item # TH629907 On my 2018 KIA Niro Hybrid? I dont expect to be able to open the hatch back with this cargo box, I dont need to open it but given the size and capacities of 21 cubic feet and 165 lb. max weight I am wondering if I am crazy or if I might try and see. Any comments or suggestions or warnings? Thank you,

The minimum crossbar spread needed for the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH629907 in order to properly distribute the weight assuming it is fully loaded is 23-5/8". The crossbar spread on a 2018 Kia Niro looks to be from 27-1/2" - 32" depending on which roof rack you have. The Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack part # TH7602-TH7602 and part # THKIT4076 is what I recommend which has a 27-1/2" crossbar spread. Therefore, you will be just fine using the Thule Motion XT on a Kia Niro but as you mentioned the hatch clearance opening may be limited. There won't be any additional tie-downs needed. I do however recommend loading the larger items over the crossbars and not the front or rear.
Please note, the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box does weigh around 55 lbs so be sure to factor this into your roof weight capacity.
