The trailer wiring harness # 118540 will fit the 2013 Ford Explorer. I have included some links that will help with installation.
To add a 7-Way, you will need to use the # ETBC7 installation kit after installing the 4-Way. This will provide a 7-Way connector and all of the wiring needed to install a brake controller. I have included some links that will help explain the ETBC7 installation.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is one of our most popular controllers because it is easy to set up and easy to use. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
