Complete List Of Parts Needed To Tow a Trailer With Brakes Using A 2014 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I have a 2014 awd Sienna mini van. I will be towing 2500 # 1986 travel trailer with tow bars. I need to install tow hitch, braking controller, and I believe timbren suspension. Would you please detail the recommended item parts and their part numbers and costs for me? Thank you!

The trailer hitch I recommend for a 2014 Toyota Sienna is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98853 which has a hidden cross tube but if you are looking to save money the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98837 is also good but does not have a hidden cross tube.
The trailer wiring harness I recommend is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118498 which is plug and play. I much prefer the T-One because they typically last much longer than their competition. The T-One will provide you with a 4-way but you will need a 7-way if the trailer has brakes. The 7-way I recommend will be tied to the brake controller. The Curt Echo Brake Controller part # C51180 and 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit part # ETBC7L are hands down the best option. I know it's a bit pricey but this combo is going to cut down install time dramatically and not require any splicing into factory wires unlike other more cost effective brake controllers.
Finally, for suspension support I'd actually go with the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs part # AL60732 which are most cost effective (so you can make up for the brake controller) and because they are again not permanent and the support is adjustable so you won't lose ride quality as much like you would with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TTORSEN04. To finish your setup, the eTrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 will give you every last part you need to complete your setup.
