Question:
I can not get the horizontal hex bolt to thread into the existing weldnut. The other one went straight up in with no problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It sounds like there is possible some corrosion or dirt in the threads of the weldnut that is on your 1998 Honda Passport. Considering how old your vehicle is I am surprised you got one of the bolts installed without having to clean out the threads.
Check out the videos and FAQ article I attached on cleaning weldnuts that should be very helpful for you.
