I am buying a 2020 Kia Telluride with towing package. It comes with a 4 pin flat connector. My Lund boat trailer Shorelander has a 5 pin flat connector. How do I accommodate this 5 pin on the Kia?

To adapt the 4-pin flat connector like part # 118784 on your 2020 Kia Telluride you will need to use the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter part # 20036 which changes the 4-pole flat to a 5-pole flat on the Kia.

The 5-pole flat are commonly used on boat trailers for the reverse lockout on the surge brake actuator. Since the blue wire powers the reverse lockout on the trailer the blue wire gets spliced into the reverse light wire behind the tail lights on the Kia.

To find the reverse light wire you will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2979 to detect which wire behind the tail lights has power when the reverse lights are on.
