Circuit Breakers for Brake Controller Install on 2018 Ford F150
Question:
I have a 2018 Ford F-150 XLT super crew with 4 pin flat only. This would be my first break controller/ 7 way instal. My question is , I noticed in the install video that only the 40 amp fuse protection was used for the 12v what are the 20 and 30 amp fuses used for that come with the kit?

The 20 or 30 amp fuse included with the # ETBC7 brake controller installation kit would be installed inline on the power feed from the battery to the brake controller. Generally speaking, for a two brake axle trailer, you'd use the 20A, or the 30A for a 3 brake axle application.
If you're speaking of the video I've linked, neither the 20 nor 30A breaker is used because the controller is installed using the # 22292 which uses a connection to the battery that could already be fused. If not, a fuse would simply be added in location 24 in the fuse box under the hood.
If you haven't already chosen a brake controller, I'd recommend you take a look at the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195. The P3 is an excellent controller with one of the best user interfaces out there. It's super-easy to use, and the plain-English (or French or Spanish) diagnostics notify you of any issues with your braking system at a glance.
