Hands Free Lift Gate Operation on 2019 Ford Edge SEL or Titanium with Aftermarket Hitch
Question:
I am getting conflicting information from Ford dealers about installing a hitch on a 2019 Ford Edge SEL or Titanium with the hands for lift gate. Some say the isnt a problem, others say there will be a problem. I have also been told that there is a problem from 2018 and back but not for 2019 and forward. What is your experience?

I've got great news! We have had no issues of the hitches available like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # 75234 causing any issues with the hands free lift gate. If anything it may not work directly under the receiver tube opening but to either side you will be good.
If you haven't already found what you want I really like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # 75234 that I mentioned above because it has a really nice appearance on your vehicle once installed. The crosstube is hidden so it doesn't change the looks of the vehicle all that much.
If you plan on towing a trailer using the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector
part # 118805 and the etrailer ball mount kit part # 989900 will give you a complete set up.
Thanks for the question and happy towing. I've included links to the hitch and the installation video we did on the 2018 model for reference.
