For your 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 we have an awesome selection of fifth wheel hitches. The weight of your trailer will help determine which hitch will best suit your needs. I have a couple recommendations to help you get the job done.

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider part # BWRVK3770 is my first choice. It has a 20,000 GTW capacity and is similar to the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3710 that you were looking at because it drops into your puck system but it includes a slider below the hitch itself that will give you more turning clearance when towing a fifth wheel with your 6-1/2 foot bed. B&W is also a very well respected brand that is known for making very high quality hitches. I attached a video install of the B&W Slider hitch on a 2017 Sierra 3500 for your reference.

If you need more weight capacity then go with the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider, part # C16546 and part # C16023 . It has a GTW rating of 24,000 pounds and is another great option that is similar in function to the B&W Slider because it has a slider of its own that is great for turning clearance on the 6-1/2 foot bed.
