We have just the hitch and bike rack selection that you are looking for for your 2012 Toyota Prius. For your vehicle, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch #24776.

We have quite a few bike racks that you can use with this hitch on your vehicle. I have attached a link to all of the bike racks that will work for you.

Two bike racks that I would recommend would be the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack, # TH92BJ, and the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Rack, # TH9042PRO. The Doubletrack is a platform-style bike rack that allows for easy loading and unloading of the bikes and secures the bikes using 3 contact points at both wheels and the top frame bar. The Helium is a hanging-style bike rack with a sturdy, lightweight design that uses anti-sway cradles to reduces the movement of the bikes on the rack.

Both bike racks will work well with your vehicle and both will allow you to access the rear cargo area of your vehicle without having to remove the bike rack.

If you plan on carrying any womens or childrens bikes with small or angled frames, then you may also want to pick up the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT. Some small or angled bike frames can be difficult to load or secure on bike racks and this adapter bar provides a level crossbar to safely carry your bikes.
