Which Roof Mount Cargo Baskets Fit the 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman with Factory Crossbars

Question:

I have a 2011 Mini Countyman with factory cross bars. Now I just need a basket. There are many out there but they do not specify if they fit the Countryman or not. The length and width of some baskets would fit the rails and cross bars I currently have. Do you see an issue with adding a basket that does not specify the Countryman?

Many baskets will not have a specific vehicle fit list so that is why you do not see your vehicle listed. But I will be happy to make some suggestions for you. First, to determine if the Thule basket fits, you will need to measure your crossbars.

The basket will fit on bars that are spread between 20 inches and 37 inches apart on center. I have included some links on this basket for you.

And for a direct fit, you can use the Yakima LoadWarrior, # Y07070, or MegaWarrior, # Y07080. I have included links to video reviews of the Thule and Yakima baskets for you. If it were me, and it would fit, I would go with the Thule Canyon XT # TH859XT basket because the design is more appealing to me and it is more cost effective.
