What are Standard Rail Dimensions for Fifth Wheel Hitches

Question:

I dont know if rails have a standard slot specs, but we installed this hitch today on a friends truck. The installation was easy and straightforward for the rear rail, but when we went to install the hitch it would not fit in the slots. His hitch is an older Demco Hijacker Ultra 16 and the tabs are to wide to fit. Doing a little researching and it looks like someone had the same problem, so just curious if there was a standard size. Thank you for any info but it looks like he might need a new hitch.

There is a line of Demco fifth wheel hitches a while back that uses similar but different mounting slot dimensions like with part # DM6014. Sounds like that's what you have as the B and W # BWRVK2402 is the industry standard rail dimensions like what you see in the attached picture.

It would be time for a new slider hitch like the Reese slider # RP30075 since I believe the truck in question is a short bed.
