Replacement Wiring Harness with Upgraded Circuit Protection for a 2007 Ford Escape

Question:

Replacing my 3rd 118426 harness on a 2007 Ford Escape. This harness will not last thru the winter in PA.and that happens without the trailer being connected all winter, reluctant to by another unless improvements have been to this harness.Do you have any suggestions?

Since you are experiencing trouble with the plug and play wiring harness, # 118426, I would recommend that you go with an Upgraded Heavy Duty Wiring Harness w/Integrated Circuit & Overload Protection, # C59496. This harness has a newer design which automatically resets if a short circuit or overload is detected, once the short circuit or overload is resolved.

When installing the Upgraded Heavy Duty Wiring Harness, # C59496, on your 2007 Ford Escape you should follow the directions for a 3 wire system in the installation instructions.

I would recommend using a soldering iron, and solder, # FL0803484, to install this item for the best, longest lasting connections possible. Some electrical tape will also be needed for the connections.
