Front Mount Hitch and Load Extender To Support Kayak on 2007 Toyota Sequoia

Question:

I use a 2007 Toyota Sequoia Limited to pull a travel trailer with a fairly short tongue Retro 177SE. I would like to carry our 22 tandem sea kayak on the Sequoia roof while towing, but am quite limited to how much of the boat can hang off the back of the vehicle without interfering with the trailer. One thought would be to mount a front hitch and a vertical support to secure the front of the kayak above the front hood and bumper. The load would be minimal, 50 lbs. What do you think?

There is no reason why you couldn't install a front mount hitch and and add a front load bar to help support your Kayak and create more clearance between it and your travel trailer.

The front mount hitch I recommend for your 2007 Toyota Sequoia is the Draw-Tite 2 Inch Custom Fit Front Mount Hitch Receiver # 65080 and for the load bar, the # MPG907 you were looking at is an excellent choice with plenty of capacity to support your 22 foot kayak.
