Does a Monitor Light Come with the Second Vehicle Kit for RoadMaster BrakeMaster and Is It Needed
Question:
I purchased a second vehicle kit for my 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk and there was no brake monitor parts with it. Is this common or is the monitor necessary to flat tow ? When we purchased our RV it was set up for the Roadmaster 9000 system. No monitor light is on the dashboard at this time. Thank you

In regards to a Roadmaster BrakeMaster System, the RoadMaster Second Vehicle Kit with BreakAway for BrakeMaster Systems part # RM-98160 which I think is what you have does not come with any sort of monitor light. However, this can be obtained with the RoadMaster Replacement LED Display Monitor for BrakeMaster Systems part # RM-300065-00. The monitor light is not required for proper functionality of system nor is it required by law to have one but I strongly recommend one as it could potentially save you thousands in the long run if an issue were to occur and go unnoticed. There is a reason that nearly every braking system on the market today has some sort of monitor light.
Furthermore,I recommend taking a look at the Roadmaster Universal Brake Monitor part # RM-9530 because this option gives you a handheld device that lets you know exactly what is going on with the brakes in the toad. This will replace the RoadMaster Replacement LED Display Monitor for BrakeMaster Systems and it will be much more convenient.
