Backup camera for Camper

Question:

I have a 2019 Silverado 1500. I am pulling a 28ft camper and would like to add a backup camera if possible. I really did not want to mess up interior of truck by adding another monitor. Is it possible to to maybe tie in the camper rear view with the tuck tailgate rear view and use the existing monitor. I know I could maybe put wireless and then use IPAD when towing but keep hearing horror stories about wireless camera that will not work that far back. What would you recommend? If I used wireless I could just take IPAD when connected to trailer.

Thank you for providing me with all the information, and the photos. Since your camper came prewired adding a camera couldn't be any easier. Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # FOS05TASF is a popular choice and will plug right into the existing wiring on your trailer.

It is wireless, and comes with a 5" monitor. I know you said that you prefer to have it go through the factory screen, but currently there isn't an option for that. The monitor does come with a windshield mount, and dash mount.

What I really like about it is that you can add more cameras to the system. The Furrion Marker Light RV Side Cameras w/ Night Vision for Furrion Vision S Systems # FCE48TASL replaces your marker lights so you can have a camera on each side.

Wireless reception can be a concern, but we have had numerous customers let us know how good the picture is. One even wrote in saying that he was 1/4 mile away and noticed the picture was still being displayed! With the install being that much easier because you camper was made for this system, and the numerous positive reviews I am sure you will be happy with this camera.

I linked the parts above, along with some videos for you to check out. Happy camping!
