Question:
Will this work on my 2009 2wd Pilot Touring or will I need to hard wire the product to my truck?

As long as your 2009 Honda Pilot Touring came with a factory 7-way connector at the back of the vehicle, then you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3070-P. This adapter will plug into the back of your Tekonsha brake controller and the other end will plug into the 4-pin connector on your vehicles built in brake control wiring harness. The harness will be located under the driver side dash just to the left of the steering column. It may be taped to another harness near the emergency brake.
If your vehicle did not come with trailer wiring, then you will first need to make sure you have a 4-way connector at the back of your vehicle. If you do not, then you will want to install a wiring harness like part # 118491. I have attached the installation instructions and an installation video of this wiring harness for you to check out.
If you already have a 4-way connector, then you can skip the previous step. You will then need to install a 7 and 4-way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. This kit will provide you with the 7-way connector and the additional wires needed to install a brake controller and use your trailer brakes.
You will need to hard wire this kit to your vehicle, but I have attached an installation video of this kit on a similar vehicle and an article covering the installation of this kit that should help.
