Is the 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit # ETBC7 Better than Ordering the Individual Parts
Question:
I am going to use a 4 to 7 to 4 such as part #37185 for wiring with a brake controller. My question is. Is it worth the extra money to buy the ETBC7 for an additional $35.00 This is going into a 2006 RA4 so I will have to hand wire it. I have no idea what the fuse holders and wire costs so I am trying to weigh my options. Thank you

If you just got the connector # 37185, you would still need about 25 feet of wire # 10-2-1, 1 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540 and either a 20 amp # PK54520 or a 30 amp # PK54530. Use the 20 amp for 2 to 4 brake assemblies or the 30 amp for 6 to 8 assemblies.
You would also need some wire ties, like # BTCTIE75, and various connectors: # 564, # 44-5310A, # 44-5356A, and # 05731-5. Finally, you would need 1 foot of loom # 459075-1.
By the time you got all of those items and the connector the cost would exceed the price of the ETBC7 kit. So the 4 and 7 way installation kit, # ETBC7, is the way to go. I have included some links that explain the installation of the ETBC7 for you.
