Replacement Hubs for Old 3 Inch Axle With 25580 and LM67048 Bearings

Question:

Im looking for Replacement hubs for old axles that have a 25580 inner bearing and a LM67048 outer bearing. I noticed that someone else asked this question on the page for the AKHD-655-6-G-EZ-K assembly and the reply said it wouldnt fit and said they included a link to find the correct hub but the link only went to the replacement bearing for the LM67048. Not sure how to tell what axles I have, or how to correctly measure them but if I measure from the farthest point inside where the seal sits to the farthest outside point where the outer bearing sits, not counting the threaded part, it measures 3-3/4 inches, if I measure just the part where the bearings sit, not counting where the inner seal sits, it measures 3-5/16 inches. Can you tell me which replacement hubs I need? Pretty sure theyre 5-7000 Lb axles because the axle tubes are 3inch pipe. Sorry for the shotty pictures.

Based on the bearing numbers you provided, the etrailer Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-G-EZ-K could technically work for you. Since you're replacing the entire hub (not just the bearings), we just need to make sure the components have inner dimensions compatible with your existing spindle. The hub will already come with the bearing races installed to match the OD of the included bearings. This hub uses # 25580 for the inner bearing and # 15123 for the outer bearing, which shares the same 1.25 inch ID as the # # LM67048 you currently use.

The only other part you'll need to check is your grease seal. The seal included with # AKHD-655-6-G-EZ-K is # GS-2250DL, which has an ID of 2.250 inches. The other common variation for this particular bearing combination is grease seal # GS-2125DL, which only measures 2.125 inches on the inside. This is a minute difference, so you'll need to use a digital caliper, like # PTW80157 to get the most accurate reading.

If you find that your existing hub uses the smaller seal, then you can either use the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ, which includes all the correct components, or, a more cost effective option is to use # AKHD-655-6-G-EZ-K and purchase the smaller seals separately, available as a pair with part # RG06-090. Either one is compatible with a wheel bolt pattern of 6 on 6-1/2 and use 1/2 inch wheel studs.

If you click on the FAQ I attached at the bottom of the page, you can find a chart with the most common bearing sizes and typical applications as well as other helpful information.
