Is the Reese Goose Box with 20K Rating Enough for a 2020 Keystone Fuzion 427
Question:
I am purchasing a 2020 Fuzion 427 - Pin weight ~3600. GVWR 19000. I am afraid I am so close to the max weight I leave little room. Should I be? I dont see a 24K or 25K version of this? I know that the toyhauler currently has a rotoflex pin box but not sure if it is a 20k or larger.

The 2020 Keystone Fuzion 427 has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 19,000 lbs which means the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter part # RP85FR which is rated for 20,000 lbs will work just fine. The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the total weight of the fully loaded trailer which means that the 20,000 lb weight rating that the Reese Goose Box has would cover the trailer even while fully loaded. I understand it never hurts to have a pin box that is overrated for the weight of the trailer but if you exceed the trailer's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) you will likely run into many other issues and I don't think the Reese Goose Box would be the first to fail. That said, the Reese Goose Box is only offered in the 16,000 lb and 20,000 lb options but again I think you are just fine with the 20,000 lb option above.
Please note, the above Reese Goose Box will only work to replace a Lippert 1621, 1621HD, and 0719 pin box. If you obtain the Spacer Kit for Rotating Turret for 5th Airborne and Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pins part # RP61301 it can also be used to replace a Lippert 1116, 1716 and 0115 so be sure to verify your pin box model number before purchase but odds are you likely have one of the above options as they are most common.
