Options for Gaining Fender Clearance on United 10K Trailer
Question:
I have a 24foot United 10k trailer and it seems to be sitting too low. When i loaded it with about 6k of freight evenly spaced the tires were rubbing. Is there anything that I can purchase to make the space between the wheels and fenders higher? It has 4 leaf springs 5 5/8 equalizers

There are a couple different things you can do to the suspension setup on your United 10K trailer to raise it up so you don't run into issues with tire to fender clearance.
The first, and one of the most common methods, is to use an Over-Under kit to actually flip the axle so that the leaf springs sit on top of it instead of beneath it. This will raise the trailer by the combined height of the axle and leaf spring stack. This only works if you have a round axle and double-eye leaf springs.
If you have a 3" diameter round axle you will use part # K71-385-00 or for a 2-3/8" diameter round axle you can use part # K71-384-00. I have attached the written installation manual below that you can also take a look at.
Now if you would rather not do this, or the springs are already on top of the axle on your trailer, another good option is to simply replace your existing hangers with longer ones. This is a really efficient way to raise a trailer to get that additional clearance you're needing.
I'm not sure what size hangers you currently have on the trailer, so I went ahead and attached a link below that will take you to our full selection that you can look through.
