Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a Leased 2012 Honda Civic

Question:

What do you recommend for a bike rack for 2012 Honda Civic HF 4-door sedan? It is a leased car though so we dont want to do any drilling for securing the rack.

The hitches that are available for your 2012 Honda Civic will require slight modifications to your vehicle to be installed. You will most likely need to modify the heat shield and will need to enlarge access holes to install the Curt Hitch # C11391 as well as any of the other hitches available for your vehicle.

Since your vehicle is a leased car, I would recommend you get a trunk mounted bike rack. This would require no modifications to your vehicle and should work very well for you to transport your bikes. Check out the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms Item # Y02634 . This 2-bike trunk rack features a 4-strap mounting system and interlocking HUB for quick setup on your Honda Civic. The adjustable arms have SuperCush anti-sway cradles with ZipStrip straps for easy bike loading. Integrated locks secure bikes and rack. Check out the review video for this product that I attached.

You might also be interested in purchasing a Thule Bike adapter bar # TH982XT if you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without a horizontal top tube. This product will provide a horizontal bar for the bike rack to attach to. Check out the review video for this product I attached also.
