Is There a Tie Down that Needs to Remove to Install Curt Hitch on 2020 Toyota RAV4
Question:
1. Some reviewers mentioned removing the “tie-down” to make the hitch install easier. Do you have a picture or description of what the “tie-down” looks like and where I can find it? 2. I took a look at the limited accessibility on the passenger side bolts, especially the front one. My 19mm socket with my Sears torque wrench will not fit in this space and fit over the bolt head e.g. it’s that tight.. Can you recommend a socket and/or torque wrench that will fit in this space?

The tie down mentioned that needs to remove for the Curt hitch # C13416 to install is actually a shipping tie down that should have already been removed from the vehicle before being sold. We've found that isn't always the case and is why the instructions don't go into great detail on the step either since technically it's not supposed to be there. We don't have a good picture of the tie down either but when you go to install the hitch you should pretty easily be able to identify it.
You'll want to also use a crow's foot adapter for the torque wrench so that you can get to that harder to reach bolt as well.
