Available 5th Wheel Hitches for 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD That Connect to Gooseneck on OEM Tow Pkg

Question:

Which BandW hitch will work and still give me enough clearance between my camper and truck fender? I need at the least 7”. I purchased a 2020 HD Chevrolet High Country. It has the puck system and I would like to install a new fifth wheel hooked up to the gooseneck ball. Thanks

The tallest 5th wheel hitch we have available that will also fit in the OEM Pucks on the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is the B&W # BWRVK3775, which is adjustable between 17" and 19" tall (when measured from base of the truck bed). The adjustable height will help create the largest space between your 5th wheel and the truck bed rails. In addition to the height adjustment, this is a sliding hitch that will help create better clearance from your truck cab when executing turns, which is normally required on short bed trucks. This is my favorite 5th wheel hitch on the market because of the durability and quality you get from B&W as well as the easy operation.

There are currently no 5th wheel hitches that attach to the gooseneck hitch included in the OEM prep package for your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. For reference, the Companion hitch that you might be referring to only connects to B&W Turnoverball hitches like the # BWGNRK1012.

There are some adjustment holes on the wings of the pin box so you can try adjusting the height of the pin box to get everything into a position that will create your desired clearance from your truck's bed rails. Most truck beds are around 18" deep, so as long as your truck is not lifted, you should have enough flexibility with the adjustments available on the B&W hitch and your pin box to create at least 5-6" (and likely 7") recommended clearance between the bottom of your 5th wheel's overhang and the truck's bed rails.
